Dress Well, Test Well: Trick Your Mind into Performing Better

We had this saying in high school, “dress well, test well.” A group of classmates and myself would dress up more than we regularly did on days that we had important tests. Why did we do that? Because the added confidence boost from dressing up would also boost our test results thanks to the psychological effects.

They say that first impressions are everything, and when it comes to your personal and professional life, your appearance plays a significant role in the impression you make. Dressing well is more than just about fashion; it's about presenting yourself in a way that exudes confidence and professionalism. We tricked our brains into performing better because we felt better.

One thing that I do want to point out here is that hair color, piercings, and tattoos do NOT make you any less professional. I currently have green hair and seven tattoos at the time of writing this. When I reference professional in this article, I am referring to the attire on your body only, the difference between wearing sweatpants and a blazer with nice pants, etc.
